Host a Youth, Police & Community Initiative Workshop at your school!
The two-part YPCI workshops train middle- & high school teens to become peer legal rights educators in their communities. Each workshop is 1.5 hours long and is conducted on-site at your school. Teens have a chance to:
- Talk with trained lawyers and law students about their perspectives on police, community and safety;
- Learn about their rights around stop and frisk, and community policing; and
- Build skills to help them educate their friends about having safe interactions with police.
Schools that host at least one workshop are also eligible to participate in a series of citywide community meetings with police and other stakeholders starting this Spring.
