Youth Advocacy Corps
RAP is incubating a new project — Youth Advocacy Corps!
We are building a new kind of service corps, composed of youth from impacted neighborhoods who will be trained to become advocates in their own communities. Our goal is to help shape the futures of urban youth, instilling in them compassion and an inclination for service, while simultaneously building the number of trained advocates to address the “justice gap” intrinsic in low-income communities.
On July 6, 2015, we launched our pilot initiative — the Youth Advocacy Summer Institute (YASI) — which was a great success. YASI is a 6-week health justice summer program for youth ages 15-19 from underserved communities. YASI operates as a summer internship and includes learning, experiential and service opportunities.
We are now busy preparing for 2016, YASI 2016, and a new expanded program to launch in the fall of 2016!
Please support us in our inaugural year.
